This is the first release of eDOC Package. We hope you will enjoy using it as much as we did while developing it.
After using eDOC Package 1.0 Installer, the following files should be installed on your machine:
• in a folder named “eDOC Package”:
- this Read Me note (TeachText file)
- “eDOC Reader” (application)
- “eDOC Package Manual” (eDOC format document)
- “eDOC Reader Manual” (eDOC format document)
• in the Extension Folder in the System Folder (if you are using System 7) or in the System Folder (if you are using System 6):
- “eDOC Creator” (Chooser extension)
This software has been tested as much as possible to us and most problems we noticed during its development should now be fixed. However, we are aware of some difficulties which may still arise if you try preparing eDOCs from some applications using eDOC Creator.
• Navigator may crash if you cancel a “Print One” command
• StatView Student may crash when preparing eDOCs from results tables or graphics
• Graphics may not be included in eDOCs obtained from QuarkXPress
• eDOCs obtained from applications which use EPSF or various bitmap formats are often bitmap pictures, from which you won't be able to find or extract text
• You won't be able to find or extract text properly from eDOCs obtained from MacDraw Pro
We are working for some improvements in future versions.
